George Deck
Victim: Glenna Brammer
Case Summary
Glenna Brammer, age 9, was playing at a local park when she was lured away by 31-year-old George Deck. Glenna knew Deck from the neighborhood and he used that trust to convince her to go with him. Deck took Glenna to a small wooded area and then beat her with his fists and a board or tree limb. He then stomped on little Glenna and performed acts of vaginal intercourse and digital penetration on her. He also inserted sticks and stones into her vagina. Deck dug a shallow grave, placed Glenna’s lifeless body in it, and covered her with dirt. Neighbor’s identified Deck as the person last seen with Glenna and police arrested him two days later. A jury found Deck guilty of Aggravated Murder and Kidnapping. According to a juror, Deck escaped the death penalty because he was mentally challenged. In 2002 a trial court adjudicated Deck a sexual predator meaning he is likely to engage in the future in one or more sexually oriented offenses.
